But beneath all that refinement, something older remains.

Honest Animal is an exploration of that tension — between the cultivated self and the instinctive one, between beauty and appetite, composure and desire.

The fragrance begins disarmingly.

Soft florals, orris and a suggestion of sweetness create an elegant first impression. Everything appears composed. Beautiful, even.

Then something shifts.

Spice begins to gather. The florals become more narcotic. Warmth rises from beneath the composition and what initially felt polished starts to reveal a more bodily character.

The animal does not arrive suddenly.

It emerges.

Earth, skin, tobacco and animalic nuances begin to disturb the beauty without destroying it. What was elegant becomes sensual. What was familiar becomes stranger. Yet beneath this feral warmth, there is tenderness too — creamy woods, incense and soft lingering warmth drawing the fragrance back towards the skin.

Honest Animal does not ask us to choose between refinement and instinct.

It suggests that both are true.

That underneath the manners, the clothes, the language and everything we have learned to become, there remains something wonderfully unedited — capable of desire, fear, tenderness, appetite and recognition.

Perhaps civilisation never removed the animal.

Perhaps it simply taught it how to dress.
